The first step in getting your appliance repaired is locating your model and serial number. This can be difficult, as its located it different spots depending on the make, type and year of the appliance. Heres some tips though to help you locate your model number a little easier. Dryers - All brands - Usually around the mouth of the dryer. Open the door and look around. Washers - Depends on the brand and /or year. Top Loaders - Lift up the lid, usually up under the hinge point on most Whirlpools and Kenmores and Maytags or over the top of the console on the back of the machine. Front Loaders - Around the mouth of the washing machine, usually near the hinge. Or on the back of the machine. Refrigerators - Depends by brand - Maytag, Whirlpool, GE (later models) Inside refrigeration section, up inside ceiling. - Old GE - Down at Refrigerator door hinge. - Kitchen Aid - Inside Freezer wall halfway up. Ranges/Stoves - Around mouth of storage drawer. - Around the mouth of the oven. Cooktops - Lift top - Remove grates and burners - lift top. Newer Cooktops - From underneath, you'll need a flashlight. Wall Oven - Around the mouth of the Oven. - Side edge of the door. - Hinge point - Open the door. - Look in the owners manual.
